If you fancy something upscale, Osteria Il Coccia does an absolutely stunning Italian degustation. Divine food, chic little venue, the perfect spot to spoil yourself on a a special occasion. The house smoked butter is to die for

For a casual breakfast, you can’t beat this little cafe in Ettalong . It gets a bit busy in the summer so our advice is to go early.

Our favourite Japanese. It’s not fancy, but the food is great and authentic (we used to live in Japan so have some idea).

Well known local favourite, especially lovely for lunch.

Local tip: get there before the ferry comes in at 11 for brunch or there can be a long wait for a table on a sunny day

Great for breakfast or lunch, lovely little cafe in Umina’s main strip with surprisingly sophisticated fare for such a simple little place. We love it. (The owner and chef used to work for Yottam Ottolenghi!)

Lunch at The Box in Ettalong is great if you take that bike ride we recommended. Or not. Lovely spot on Ettalong Bay where the seas are calm and the rose is chilled to perfection

Just a little on the upscale end if you choose the degustation, Safran does fantastic Turkish cuisine. Bookings recommended!

A little drive away in Kinkumber, well worth it for the kooky vibe. Frequent visitors may recall the old Rojo Rockets site, now converted to this diner with a vintage vibe. Great drinks, good tunes and a fun time.
